1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how LiveWisdom Ltd (“LiveWisdom”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your personal data when you visit our website, use our web application, interact with our AI-generated historical avatars via audio-visual conversations, or otherwise use our services (collectively, the “Services”).
LiveWisdom Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales, with its address at Woodbine Cottage, Harefield, UB9 6LU, England, UK. For the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and applicable data protection laws, LiveWisdom acts as the Data Controller of your personal data.
2. Ephemeral Audio and Video
Our platform allows you to interact with historical avatars via real-time, audio-visual conversations (similar to a video call). When you speak to an avatar, your audio is processed ephemerally. This means your voice is instantly transcribed to text to generate a response, and the audio recording is immediately deleted. We do not permanently store your voice recordings, nor do we collect, extract, or store voiceprints, facial geometry, or biometric data.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information directly from you, automatically through your use of the Services, and from our authentication partners.
A. Information You Provide to Us Directly
- Account Data: When you register, we collect your email address and profile information.
- Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription or Paid Service, billing information is collected directly by our secure payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers, but we do store your billing history and subscription status.
- Interaction Data: The text transcripts resulting from your real-time conversations with our avatars. To provide a seamless experience where avatars "remember" your past interactions, our AI video generation infrastructure utilizes localized "memory stores." This retains the text transcripts of your past conversations so the avatar can reference them in future sessions. We also process conversation transcripts with trusted AI infrastructure providers, including OpenAI, to generate session recaps, takeaways, suggested follow-up questions, and other derived learning insights for your account. We minimize transcript content before this processing where practical and do not use your transcripts to train broader LiveWisdom models. This memory and insight processing is ring-fenced to your individual account to provide functional context.
- Communications: Information you provide when you contact our support team.
B. Information We Collect Automatically
- System & Usage Data: We automatically log information about your device and how you interact with our platform to ensure stability and improve the user experience. This includes your IP address, browser type, error logs, and session durations.
4. Cookies
Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a site, that enable us to, among other things: (i) recognize your computer or device; (ii) store your preferences and settings; (iii) understand the web pages of the Site you have visited; (iv) enhance your user experience by delivering content tailored to your context; (v) perform searches and analytics; and (vi) assist with security and administrative functions. They are then returned to the original website on each subsequent visit or to any other website that recognizes them. For more information on cookies, go to www.allaboutcookies.org.
The term "Cookie" is used in this Notice in the broad sense to include all similar tracking techniques and technology, including, but not limited to, browser Local Storage, web beacons, tracking pixels, and log files. For more information on these additional tools, see our glossary below.
To ensure our Services function securely and to understand how users interact with our platform, we use tracking technologies. We operate a strict "privacy-by-default" consent mechanism.
A. When you first visit LiveWisdom, we assume a "reject" state for all non-essential tracking. Our product analytics tools are explicitly instructed not to track you by default.
- If you click "Accept All", we store a consent flag in your browser’s Local Storage and explicitly trigger our analytics telemetry to begin capturing data.
- If you click "Essential Only", we store a flag in Local Storage and explicitly trigger an opt-out command to ensure analytics tracking remains completely disabled.
On subsequent visits, we read this Local Storage flag to respect your persistent choice and immediately re-apply your preferences without repeatedly showing you the banner.
B. Strictly Necessary (Cannot be disabled) These technologies are legally and technically required for the Services to function securely:
- Authentication & Sessions: We use secure JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) and session cookies managed by our secure authentication provider to keep you logged in securely.
- Payment Security: Our payment processor utilizes embedded security trackers exclusively for fraud prevention and secure checkout processing.
- Consent Persistence: The Local Storage flag used exclusively to remember whether you accepted or declined tracking.
C. Analytics & Telemetry (Requires your "Accept All" Consent) If you opt in, we enable our third-party analytics provider to track product telemetry, page views, and feature interactions. This helps us fix bugs and improve the user interface. You can withdraw your consent at any time via your account settings or the cookie preferences link in our footer.
D. Email Tracking Pixels Our email communications provider utilizes web beacons (invisible tracking pixels) in our marketing and transactional emails to track open rates and link clicks. You can opt out of this tracking by disabling automatic image-loading in your email client or by clicking "unsubscribe" on marketing emails.
Duration of Storage of Cookies on Your Device
The duration of storage of Cookies on your device may vary, depending on the category to which they belong: temporary or permanent.
- Temporary (Session) Cookies: We use temporary Cookies on our secure pages to assign and register a session ID. This type of Cookie does not leave any information recoverable on your hard drive. Most of our strictly necessary session Cookies fall into this category and expire when you close your Internet browser.
- Permanent Cookies / Local Storage: Our persistent technologies allow us to provide you with additional features related to your Site customization and to respect your privacy choices. For instance, your lw-cookie-consent Local Storage flag and your AI conversational memory stores survive after your browser is closed. This allows our Site to recognize your preferences and contextual history when you re-open your browser later.
Browser Management You can also exercise your Cookie preferences by managing Cookies from your web browser. As the means by which to activate or deactivate Cookies varies from one web browser to another, you should visit your web browser's help menu for more information. You can also configure your browser at any time to be notified of the receipt of a Cookie, and you can delete them from your computer at any time.
Email Tracking Options You may opt out of email web beacons by disabling automatic image loading in your email client or by clicking the "unsubscribe" link at the bottom of our marketing communications.
